Confectioneries and bakeries are big users of custom box packaging. This is a clever box that we just had to share. Thelma’s is a warm cookie delivery business. This delivery box not only keeps the cookies warm but also looks like Grandma Thelma’s oven and the cookies even come out of the box as if they were being removed from an oven. What a great way to take the simple concept of a box and turn it into something so familiar to everyone!

High End box for Retail Cosmetics/Toiletries

This sample of box packaging is a perfect example of why custom options are a great avenue to take for retail product lines. This particular product is from Aromatherapy Associates. Each of their products offers a different relaxation element and is represented by its packaging. Not only do the products vary in color and service, they keep their brand image consistent throughout. To keep their high end image, they use foil stamped turned edge boxes that hold their toiletry product secure and unique. Customers that buy this packaging get what they pay for, and newcomers are attracted to the package. Well done.

Cosmetics Kit Box

Marketing for cosmetics relies heavily on the packaging. In order for manufacturers of cosmetic products to really make an impact in the industry, packaging needs to be effective. The box or package not only markets the product, it helps manufacturers establish their identity in a niche market. Good cosmetic packaging is designed for both aesthetics and protection because it preserves the items and attracts new customers. Something to think about when designing for cosmetics retail, is to involve a packaging engineer or designer- there are so many options and avenues to consider in this market, it can be easy to make a couple wrong turns. Probably the most important thing to remember is to have samples of your product made and provide them to your packaging manufacturer. After a lot of time, planning, materials, and labor, it would be a shame if your product didn’t fit in the box at the end. Once you have attracted a new following, your packaging options will become easy to spot in the aisles and a “go-to” product for satisfied customers.

Promotional Kits- Packaging makes a difference!
March 7th, 2013
Yesterday here at Sunrise Packaging, we received a promotional kit of samples from a supplier that is prospecting us as a client. While we were happy with receiving the samples, we were blown away by the packaging! Of course it might have been because it is our business, but we experienced first-hand what we try to convey to our customers. Promotional packaging can make a world of difference when you send samples, literature, or other materials to prospective or existing clients! If you mail them free samples, they will be happy with them. Put it in a nice box that represents your company and you’ve got them sold! This method is much more effective than a plain brown cardboard box–everyone gets more excited about a fancy package. Now don’t go hog wild, there are plenty of options to fit into your budget. If you have a very expensive product or service and want to convey that to your audience, by all means spring for a nice turned edge set up or cigar-style box (we suggest the cigar-box, it’s classy and stays in one piece!). For a tighter budget go for something more modest. However- you may be surprised, depending on your supplier you might be able to get fancy for less cash. Make sure you can customize it. You want it to be obvious to the recipient who it is from. Customize according to what your selling- use a graphic print or design, a photograph that represents you, or keep it simple with a classy embossed logo. As they say, you have to spend money to make money… you might as well do it right!

Turned Edge for Box Packaging
February 21st, 2013The turned-edge process creates the look and feel similar to a hardcover book. Read our Past blog “What is Turned Edge” to read more about the process and its benefits. While its most common application can be seen in ring binders used for loose leaf paper or other literature packaging, it creates a high end look for any box packaging. Turned edge is a sharp looking alternative to corrugated or folding carton. The possibilities are endless for customization because you aren’t limited to printing on the structural material. You can choose whatever textured or printed application and wrap it around sturdy chipboard instead of having to worry about the print quality on SBS or corrugated. Watch this video to see the process of making turned edge products (also known as case made). And while you’re taking the time to watch videos- check out other videos by Sunrise Packaging on Youtube to see some of our products and the many custom features we can apply.

February 14th, 2013In the spirit of Valentine’s day, it is only appropriate that we celebrate the ever popular box of chocolates. As Mr. Gump has informed us and it holds true-”you never know what you’re gonna get.” However, this is one of the best days for custom boxes varying in design, shape, material, and the best part- the sweet contents. The design on the box is so thought out and well executed that there is no need for extra decor. So, in honor of this lovey-dovey holiday, here is a tribute to some of our favorite Valentine’s day candy boxes.
